At Home (intro 1.1MB 1min 34sec)

Everyday I check the mail when I get home, and watch the kids run outside to greet me in the driveway. These simple things remind me of how I enjoy coming home.

Wishing Upon The Stars

I wrote this song while depressed and angry that my new wife was thousands of miles away and across oceans while I finished up my military service in Japan (the first year was a tough one)!

Jacktone Road

This one is about me learning to drive in our old 1974 Ford Econoline van on a country road we use to frequent as a family growing up in Northern California. There was a lot to learn behind that wheel!

Honky Tonk Blues (intro 722K 1min 1sec)

This is an old Hank Williams CLASSIC that I cut my teeth on. I couldn't help but record it my way!

Daddy Wasn't A Saint

This is a song that means probably a whole lot more to me these days being the father of some fine young boys (and girls). I hadn't known the depth of the song when I set out to write it, but this song really speaks to me differently every time I sing it. The most profound message to me is how important a man is in shaping the life of a young boy.

Allergic To The Blues

Alan Jackson and Jim McBride wrote this song, and Randy Travis did an awesome job with it! I wanted to have some fun with it myself, and bring it back from the early 90's grave!

Will You Still Talk To Me (intro 1.09MB 1min 35sec)

I wrote this song months after my 4 year old son had asked me an eternal question while I was tucking him in to bed one night - "Daddy, are you going to die?" He wanted to be sure that he would still be able to talk with me. It was a moment in time you can't buy, and an opportunity to provide truth to a young mind as well as strengthen our relationship.

G.U.I.L.T.Y.

We don't always get along with our significant other, and I'm no exception. One day when I should have been with my family in church, I played hooky, and decided to just stay home. That caused some "issues", and while the family was away, I commenced to writing this song. It really reflected more of our earlier life (before children), with a little of my own fabrication. But hey, that's what makes writing fun...you can tell the story how you want to!

Southbound To Bakersfield (intro 1MB 1min 27sec)

I had the chorus for this song for about 2 or 3 years before I decided to do anything with it. I knew what I wanted to say, but just didn't take the time to write it down. 2 Weeks before I was suppossed to record this CD, my family and I were driving back from west Texas, and the ideas started flowing. I give my wife a bunch of credit, because she helped with the fine tuning. This song is my tribute to the "Bakersfield Sound" indicative of Buck Owens, some Dwight Yoakum, and Merle Haggard. Being from Northern California during my impressionable years, I just had to write this one!

Satan's Jeweled Crown

I first heard this song while at a Bluegrass Camp in west Texas in 2003. My new friends Elliott and Janice Rogers had been playing this Edgar Edens penned song for a bunch of mesmerized campers. The Louvin Brothers made this song a hit in the 50's, and it was high time for it to see the airwaves again! I just love this song, and I want to thank Elliott and Janice for doing a wonderful job singing with me on it.

“…I promise you that your CD will be receiving a great amount of airplay… My feeling is that you will
become a requested artist very quickly, and not only on "Pure as Stone Country Music Jamboree".
Luke Roman has a Classical Country show on the station and we "share" listeners who will (I'm sure)
be calling him requesting Les Alexander music. My wife, who doesn't particular share my love of this
kind of music, listened to the CD and has told me she'd request "Jacktone Road" and "G.U.I.L.T.Y.".”
